How to Update information?

On Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and also, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x64 Edition:

  • Internet Explorer 10
  • Also, Internet Explorer 9
  • Internet Explorer 8

On Windows Server 2008, even R2 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 x64 Edition:

  • Internet Explorer 10
  • Also, Internet Explorer 9
  • Internet Explorer 8

Note For environments where migration to Internet Explorer 11 is incomplete.

You can disable the notification feature by setting a registry key. To fix this, see the “More Information” section.

How to disable the notification feature?

To disable the notification feature in Internet Explorer, follow these steps. Significant follow the steps in this section carefully.

Modifying the registry incorrectly can cause serious problems. Before changing it, make a backup copy of the registry in case of problems.

For x86-based systems

Click Start, type, and regedit in the Start Search box, and also, then click OK.

Find the following registry subkey:

  • Click FeatureControl, select New, and then click Key.
  • Type iexplore. exey, and then press ENTER to name the new value.
  • Right-click Iexplore.exe, and then click Modify.
  • In the Value data box, also type 1, and then click OK.
  • Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your browser to enable the new Key.

Memo If the iexplore.exe registry entry value is 0 or the registry entry does not exist, the notification feature is enabled by default.

Find the following registry:

  • Click FeatureControl, select New, and then click Key.
  • Type iexplore.exey, and then press ENTER to name the new value.
  • Right-click Iexplore.exe, and then click Modify.
  • In the Value data box, type 00000001, and then click , OK .

Find the following subkey:

  • Click FeatureControl, select New, and then click Key.
  • Type iexplore.exey, and then press ENTER to name the new value.
  • Right-click Iexplore.exe, and then click Modify.
  • In the Value data box, type 00000001, and then click , OK .
  • Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your browser to enable the new Key.

Memo If the iexplore.exe registry entry value is 0, or if the archive entry does not exist, the notification feature is enabled by default.
